“I’ve had choices since the day that I was born… there were voices that told me right from wrong… If I had listened, no, I wouldn’t be here today… Living and dying with the choices I’ve made” …George Jones

This cemetery holds over 3,300 unclaimed indigent inmates… individuals who were convicted and sentenced, yet still someone’s child, sibling, spouse, or parent.
As a nurse, I was never called to judge, only to care. Every patient I encountered, I reminded myself of that.

This morning in Huntsville, as I was leaving, I saw Bowers Blv and felt led to turn.
The cemetery stretches across 22 acres… and somehow, I went straight to him.

Seven years ago, I was the only one at Shawn’s funeral, likely the last person anyone would have expected to be there.
But I know this: forgiveness brings healing, and God’s mercy and grace surpass it all.
Just before his passing, I received an unexpected Christmas card.
Inside was a handwritten apology, asking for forgiveness. And in bold letters, he wrote, “I have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior.”
We all have choices… make it a good one!!
God is so good.
