… I hope others remember Mr. Martin Cowart from West Hardin.. He taught Texas history, Civics and other subjects… He left teaching and went back OTR truck driving in the mid 80’s… He said he made twice the money… I was already out of school but we stayed in touch.
… I remember going to the post office one day and received a post card… It was from him… It read “I got a ticket today from EDDIE HASKELL”… he went on to say that when he was pulled over in California the officer looked familiar… It was Ken Osmond the actor that played Eddie Haskell on Leave it to Beaver.
… I thought about Mr. Cowart when I read that Eddie Haskell recently passed away at the age 76.
… Its crazy how memories pop up out of nowhere… In no way did “Mr C” ever dream that one day, an old, gray, fluffy former student of his… would be sitting in a chicken yard… Reminiscing on memories from the classroom and the experiences he had shared.
… Memories is one thing that we will all definitely leave behind.. let’s make them good ones!
